Hear from the community
"Having advocates from A Woman's Place and the Weld Country community is a great way to support all members of the school community; victims, survivors, advocates, students, teachers, etc... Having the Teen Violence presentation in our schools is a critical component of raising awareness and decreasing the startling facts surrounding teen dating violence."
"I also wanted to share my immense gratitude for you and your presentation you gave for our Scholars. We have continued to have many important conversations due to your presentation and multiple students have shared that they were very impacted by the presentation. While recognizing it is difficult to talk about, that is exactly why it is critical to talk about and I was hoping that scholars would critically reflect, learn, and help continue to raise awareness about domestic violence especially in our own community..."
"Over the past 6 years, AWP has been delivering to my classes their 'Teen Dating Violence' presentation. It is an engaging, statistically driven program that explains relationship 'red flags', discusses the concepts of power and control, and where to go for help. The lesson that they teach aligns with the valuable services they provide Weld County as a domestic abuse shelter. The contribution AWP brings to my class without question enhances our Health & Wellness curriculum. I would strongly encourage any health educator to consider having AWP represented in their classes."
"What an awesome job. I had kids write yesterday about something that impacted them in our unit and several wrote about your lesson! I love it!"
"The material presented to our youth was very informative and helpful. It is such an important topic to talk about and I think it was great to talk with the youth about warnings, how to identify abusive relationships, and how to set healthy boundaries. Thank you for providing a safe space for our youth and for providing additional resources."
